Pajama Day may have brought plenty of cozy vibes to the elementary school for Homecoming Week, but it was Buffalo Bills cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram who truly made the day unforgettable.
Ingram stopped by Mrs. Wight’s second-grade class at Allegany-Limestone Elementary to share his inspiring children’s book, “The Lil’ Player That Could,” a story all about hard work, perseverance, and believing in yourself.
The NFL pro who was not drafted by any team coming out of the University at Buffalo captivated his young audience during story time — and then took his visit to the next level.
After reading, Ingram toured the school, visiting all the second-grade classrooms, greeting students with high-fives, fist bumps, and plenty of smiles.
The excitement was contagious as students got a firsthand lesson in kindness, determination, and chasing big dreams.
Ja’Marcus is perhaps most known for his interception of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa last season. Watch below!
The special visit came together thanks to second-grader Ben Shembeda, who extended the invitation himself. Ben’s dad, Nick Shembeda, works as a director and media producer for Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins.
A huge shoutout to Ja’Marcus Ingram for making time to connect with our Gators, showing that even professional athletes can take a timeout for what really matters: inspiring the next generation.
