The City of Olean Youth Bureau & Recreation Department is spreading holiday cheer with the return of its 12 Days of Holiday Skating at the William O. Smith Recreation Center.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and organizations, families can enjoy free admission for public skating on select dates throughout December, including two special sponsored days that include complimentary pizza and winter hats and gloves.
It’s a great way to celebrate the season, stay active, and make lasting memories on the ice.

About the Rink
The Robert S. Matthews Memorial Ice Rink at the William O. Smith Recreation Center opened for its 46th season of fun in August.
Built in 1979, the rink now hosts two St. Bonaventure University hockey teams, as well as teams from Alfred State College, Olean High School, the City Men’s Hockey League, and the Olean Area Youth Hockey Association.
The 200-by-85-foot rink seats 577 fans and offers public skating sessions daily, along with skate & shoot sessions, ice bocce, and curling.
Outside of the 12 days of holiday skating, admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, or $12 for a family of four. Skate rentals are $4 per person. Season passes are also available.
